ILIOSTASIO

The Cultural Society ILIOSTASIO is an association that aims to cultivate and disseminate the work of the poet Iason Depountis (1919-2008).

ILIOSTASIO also endeavours to promote cultural and scientific projects which, in the spirit of Ι. Depountis' concept of culture, are qualitatively outstanding and characterised by humanism.

ILIOSTASIO means solstice – a term that runs like a thread through the work of Iason Depountis.

In partnership with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Municipality of Athens, the Cultural Society ILIOSTASIO is organising the exhibition “IASON DEPOUNTIS – DUE TO YOU, POETRY, TROY IS STILL BURNING”, which will be on display in Athens in 2026. The exhibition was previously shown from July 2024 to February 2025 in the Old Fortress of Corfu.
